Single Sign-on
Encountering an APEX login page immediately after clicking through the EBS Navigation Menu can be a frustrating experience for users. Ideally, users should be automatically directed to the appropriate APEX page, fully authenticated and authorized. This is the essence of ‘seamless integration’.
DSP-Eclipsys has developed a custom authentication scheme that leverages information from the active EBS session to automatically log users into APEX, eliminating the need for the APEX login page. With recent APEX enhancements allowing in-session authentication scheme switching, DSP-Eclipsys EBS-APEX applications now support both seamless EBS integration and standalone authentication.
Be Careful!
When you license the Oracle Database for use with EBS, it’s often done under a “Limited Use” agreement. This usually means “Application Specific Full Use” (ASFU), where you receive discounts but your software usage rights are restricted. If you have an Oracle EBS license under this arrangement, you’re not allowed to make custom changes to the application or the underlying database schema.
Some customers choose “Full Use” licenses, which let them use the Oracle Database for any purpose, not just for EBS. DSP-Eclipsys can help you understand your Oracle license agreements and advise on deploying APEX extensions to EBS, so you stay compliant.
